The CHICAGO-LATROBE 44212 is a jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in non-ferrous metals and similar materials. Built from high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it delivers consistent cutting performance across a wide range of shop and field applications. The bit measures 3/16 inches in diameter with a 3-1/2 inch overall length and a standard 118-degree point angle. A web-thinned, tapered web design reduces thrust at entry and helps keep the drill centered on the work surface. Two spiral flutes with a regular helix evacuate chips efficiently during through-hole and blind-hole operations. Licensed tradespeople and fabricators in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general mechanical work will find this bit well suited to production drilling tasks.
This drill bit is appropriate for drilling non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard three-jaw drill chucks without modification. At 3-1/2 inches overall with a 2-5/16 inch flute length, it handles typical jobber-depth holes encountered in equipment fabrication, panel work, bracket installation, and pipe or conduit support mounting. The Series 150D conforms to DIN 338 standards, making it a recognized general-purpose jobber format used widely across trade disciplines.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit per DIN 338 standards, compatible with any standard 3-jaw drill chuck accepting a 3/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Intended primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal.
This bit is installed and used by licensed tradespeople and qualified technicians performing drilling operations on metal workpieces. Secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify chuck key is removed before starting the spindle. Apply an appropriate cutting fluid when drilling non-ferrous metals to extend bit life and improve hole finish. Inspect the cutting edges and web area before each use and replace the bit if chipping or excessive wear is observed.
