The CHEMICALS 9992101 is a high-concentration propylene glycol heat transfer fluid formulated for hydronic HVAC systems where incidental contact with people or animals is a concern. Running at 94 percent concentration, this DOWFROST HD fluid provides freeze protection down to -60 degrees F and remains effective at operating temperatures up to 325 degrees F. The fluid ships in a 55-gallon drum and carries a yellow colorant for easy identification. Licensed HVAC technicians and mechanical contractors typically handle bulk fluid orders of this type for large system fills or seasonal changeovers.
This fluid is used in closed-loop and open-loop hydronic heating and cooling systems, radiant floor systems, snow-melt applications, and process cooling circuits where a food-safe or low-toxicity antifreeze is required by code or owner preference. Its wide temperature range makes it suitable for both northern climates requiring deep freeze protection and high-temperature process applications. It is well suited for commercial and industrial mechanical rooms as well as residential radiant systems.
Designed for use in hydronic HVAC systems, radiant heating circuits, and heat transfer applications requiring a low-toxicity propylene glycol fluid.
Installation and system fill work should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or mechanical contractor familiar with hydronic system procedures. Shut down and depressurize the system before draining existing fluid and introducing new glycol solution. Verify that all system components, including pumps, valves, and heat exchangers, are rated for use with propylene glycol fluids before filling. Dispose of spent fluid in accordance with local regulations.
