The Charlotte Pipe Foundry Co. PVC100100600 is a Schedule 80, solid-wall PVC pipe rated for pressure applications in residential and commercial plumbing, irrigation, and industrial systems. This pipe measures 1 inch in diameter and comes in a 20-foot plain-end length. It is manufactured from Type 1, Grade 1 PVC compound and carries a 630 PSI pressure rating, making it suitable for demanding fluid-handling installations. Gray in color, Schedule 80 pipe features a thicker wall than Schedule 40, offering increased durability and pressure capacity. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers for this product.
This pipe is suited for pressure-rated systems in residential and commercial construction, industrial process piping, water distribution, and chemical-handling lines where higher wall thickness is required. The plain-end configuration allows field cutting and solvent welding or threading as needed. It meets ASTM D-1784 and ASTM D-1785 material and dimensional standards, as well as NSF Standard 14 and NSF Standard 61 for potable water contact, making it appropriate for drinking water systems where local codes permit Schedule 80 pipe.
Designed as an OEM-style pressure pipe for use with Schedule 80 PVC fittings, couplings, and valves in 1-inch nominal pipe size systems meeting ASTM D-1785 specifications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off system pressure and drain the line before cutting or joining. Use a ratchet pipe cutter or fine-tooth saw for clean cuts, deburr all cut ends, and apply appropriate PVC primer and solvent cement rated for Schedule 80 pipe when solvent welding. Do not exceed the published pressure rating, and account for temperature derating when the pipe will carry fluids above ambient temperature.
