The Charlotte Pipe Foundry Co. PVC044000600 is a Schedule 40 foam-core (cell core) PVC pipe designed for drain, waste, and vent (DWV) applications in non-pressure systems. The foam core construction reduces overall pipe weight compared to solid-wall PVC while maintaining the outer dimensions and socket compatibility required for standard Schedule 40 fittings. This pipe measures 4 inches in diameter and 10 feet in length with plain ends, making it ready for solvent-cement jointing. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this pipe in residential and light commercial drain and vent rough-in work. It conforms to ASTM F-891 and meets NSF Standard 14 for potable water system materials and related plumbing products.
This pipe is suited for interior DWV rough-in installations in residential and light commercial construction. Typical applications include horizontal drain runs, vertical waste stacks, and vent piping inside conditioned or protected spaces. The plain-end configuration accepts standard Schedule 40 DWV couplings and fittings solvent-cemented per manufacturer and code requirements. Because this is a foam-core product, it is intended strictly for non-pressure, gravity-flow drain and vent service and should not be used in pressure or force-main applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-construction component compatible with standard Schedule 40 PVC DWV fittings and couplings for non-pressure drain, waste, and vent piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the applicable plumbing code (IPC or local equivalent). Cut pipe square using a fine-tooth saw or pipe cutter rated for PVC, deburr and chamfer cut ends, and apply the appropriate PVC primer and solvent cement for the pipe diameter before joining. This pipe is rated for non-pressure DWV service only — never install it on pressure water supply, compressed air, or any pressurized fluid line. Support horizontal runs at intervals required by the governing plumbing code to prevent sagging.
