The CHARLOTTE PIPE PVC-601-4X4X2 is a reducing wye fitting designed for drain, waste, and vent (DWV) piping systems. It provides a 2-inch branch outlet on a 4-inch by 4-inch run, allowing smaller branch lines to tie into a main 4-inch drain stack. This fitting is rated for non-pressure, gravity-fed waste elimination systems only and is not suitable for pressurized water supply lines. Operating temperatures must not exceed 140 degrees F. Plumbers and pipefitters select this fitting for residential and light commercial DWV rough-in work where a reduced branch connection is required.
This reducing wye is suited for residential and commercial drain, waste, and vent installations where a 2-inch branch line must connect to a 4-inch main line. Typical applications include tying lavatory, utility sink, or secondary fixture drains into a primary 4-inch drain stack or horizontal drain run. The fitting is joined using solvent cement, and its lightweight PVC construction simplifies handling and positioning during rough-in stages. It is manufactured in the USA by Charlotte Pipe.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting for residential and commercial PVC DWV piping systems accepting 4-inch by 4-inch by 2-inch wye configurations joined by solvent cement or mechanical methods.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local codes. Shut off all flow to the affected drain line and ensure the pipe is dry before applying solvent cement. Follow the fitting and cement manufacturer's cure time requirements before restoring flow. Do not use this fitting in any pressurized water supply application.
