The CHARLOTTE PIPE FOUNDRY CO. PVC 00401 2000HA is a 4-inch by 4-inch by 3-inch reducing sanitary tee manufactured in white PVC. It is designed to connect a 3-inch branch line into a vertical 4-inch drain stack, directing flow smoothly downstream while maintaining the slope required for proper drainage. Licensed plumbers install this fitting during rough-in on residential and light commercial DWV (drain-waste-vent) systems. The hub connections accept solvent-welded PVC pipe on all three ports. This SKU ships as a package of 10 units, making it suitable for multi-fixture rough-ins or contractor restocking.
This reducing sanitary tee is used where a smaller-diameter branch line, such as a 3-inch toilet or lav drain, ties into a 4-inch vertical soil stack. Typical applications include multi-story residential new construction, bathroom group rough-ins, and drain system retrofits. The sweep geometry of a sanitary tee keeps the branch connection oriented correctly for vertical-stack installations. It is not rated for use as a horizontal fitting between two horizontal runs; a wye-and-eighth-bend combination is required in those configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style DWV fitting for use with Schedule 40 PVC hub-end pipe and fittings in residential and light commercial drain-waste-vent systems where a 3-inch branch connects to a 4-inch vertical drain stack.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local amendments. Shut off the water supply and ensure the drain system is depressurized before cutting into an existing stack. Clean and dry all mating surfaces, apply PVC primer and solvent cement per manufacturer directions, and maintain the correct hub orientation so the branch sweep faces the direction of flow. Sanitary tees must be installed with the branch entering a vertical run only; do not use this fitting in a horizontal-to-horizontal configuration.
