The CGW 35622 is a Type 27 depressed center grinding wheel designed for aggressive material removal on steel and other ferrous metals. It measures 4.5 x 0.25 x 0.875 inches and uses an A24-N-BF aluminum oxide abrasive bond rated for fast cut performance. The 0.25-inch thickness is standard for general grinding work, removing weld beads, deburring plate edges, and blending surface imperfections. Sold in boxes of 25, this wheel suits fabrication shops, ironworkers, pipefitters, and maintenance welders who cycle through grinding media at volume. Each wheel weighs approximately 0.34 pounds.
This wheel is intended for right-angle grinder use on steel fabrication, structural ironwork, pipe fitting, and general metal prep. The Type 27 depressed center profile allows the wheel to work flat against the workpiece surface, making it effective for surface grinding and weld blending on flat stock, pipe, and structural shapes. The A24-N-BF bond designation indicates a coarse 24-grit aluminum oxide abrasive in a medium-hard bond structure suited to carbon steel and mild alloy steel applications.
Designed for use with 4.5-inch right-angle grinders equipped with a 7/8-inch arbor. Suitable for grinding carbon steel and mild steel workpieces.
Wheel mounting and use should follow ANSI B7.1 safety standards and the grinder manufacturer guidelines. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before mounting and never exceed the maximum RPM marked on the wheel. Power down and disconnect the grinder from its power source before changing wheels. Wheel installation requires a proper flange and locking nut appropriate to the grinder model.
