The CENTURY DRILL TOOL CO INC 73107 is a No. 7 square screw extractor designed to remove broken bolts and screws from fastening holes without damaging the surrounding material. It handles bolt and screw sizes up to 7/8 inches and requires a 9/16-inch left-hand drill bit for proper use. The square taper profile grips the inside of a drilled pilot hole and backs the fastener out as the extractor turns counterclockwise. This tool is well suited for plumbers, HVAC technicians, electricians, and general tradespeople who encounter sheared or seized fasteners during service and repair work.
This extractor is built for thin-wall extraction applications where a standard extractor might spread or distort the surrounding material. It is commonly used in residential and light commercial settings when bolts or screws break flush or below the surface during system installation, maintenance, or teardown. The package includes 2 extractors per unit, making it practical for service kits and job-site toolboxes.
Designed for use with broken or seized bolts and screws up to 7/8 inches in diameter. Requires a 9/16-inch left-hand drill bit as the corresponding pilot drill.
A licensed or experienced tradesperson should drill the pilot hole using a 9/16-inch left-hand drill bit centered on the broken fastener before inserting the extractor. Ensure the workpiece is secure and the drill is set to reverse before beginning extraction. Do not apply excessive force to the extractor once seated, as overloading can cause breakage inside the hole. Follow standard workshop safety practices including eye protection when drilling and extracting fasteners.
