The CENTAUR 70058 is a standard single angle collet in the TG100 and PG100 series, designed for use in compatible collet chucks on milling machines, CNC machining centers, and similar toolholding systems. It accepts a 0.9844 inch (63/64) diameter workpiece or cutting tool shank and delivers a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.0005 inches, providing the concentricity needed for accurate material removal and tool life. The body diameter measures 1.38 inches with an overall length of 2.38 inches. This collet is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians in production and job-shop environments.
The 70058 is suited for residential shop, commercial production, and industrial toolroom applications wherever TG100 or PG100 collet chucks are in service. It is a standard-type collet, meaning it relies on the chuck taper to close the collet around the tool shank under clamping force. Typical installations include end mill holders, tap holders, and general-purpose toolholding setups requiring precise shank gripping across short-run and high-volume machining operations.
Designed for use with TG100 and PG100 series collet chucks accepting a 0.9844 inch collet bore.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the chuck is secured before inserting or removing collets. Clean the collet taper and chuck bore thoroughly before installation to prevent runout from debris or burrs. Follow the chuck manufacturer's clamping torque guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when tightening the collet nut.
