The CENTAUR 000012 is a quick-change tapping adapter designed to hold No. 12 taps in a No. 0 adapter body. It fits into compatible quick-change tap holders and transmits torque from the spindle to the tap shank. The adapter accepts a tap shank diameter of 0.22 inches and features an outside shank diameter of 0.51 inches. With a flange diameter of 0.87 inches and a tap depth of 0.87 inches, this adapter is sized for precision tapping work on small-diameter threads. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this type of adapter in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and tapping machines where repeatable tap changes are required.
