The CD CDV-CD2090 is a Sure Seal retaining coupler designed for use on refrigerant charging hoses in HVAC service applications. When attached to a Schrader-type access fitting, the coupler automatically depresses the valve core and opens the port in one motion, eliminating a separate step. When disconnected, it seals the charging hose and traps refrigerant inside, preventing loss to atmosphere. The unit is machined from brass and rated to 700 psi working pressure. Internal seals are compatible with newer refrigerants including HFOs and HFCs. If internal components wear, a replacement parts kit is available separately. Licensed HVAC technicians performing refrigerant service are the primary installers.
This coupler is suited for residential and light commercial refrigerant charging and recovery work. It is designed to remain permanently installed on the end of a charging hose, making it a functional end fitting rather than a temporary adapter. The 1/4 inch female flare inlet connects to standard charging manifold hoses, and the 1/4 inch male flare outlet threads onto a 1/4 inch SAE access port fitting. Its compact brass construction holds up to repeated connection cycles in field service conditions.
Designed for use with standard 1/4 inch SAE flare refrigerant charging hoses and 1/4 inch Schrader-type access fittings commonly found on residential and light commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians following EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling requirements. Recover or isolate refrigerant pressure before disconnecting any hose assembly from the system. Thread the coupler onto the charging hose end hand-tight, then snug with a wrench — do not overtighten brass flare fittings. Inspect the internal seal condition before each use and replace the seal kit if leakage or stiff operation is observed.
