The CAVAGNA 988tw-17 is a twin-stage LP gas pressure regulator with a compact body design, rated at 750,000 BTU/h capacity. It features an FPOL inlet connection paired with a 1/2-inch FPT outlet, allowing it to step down tank pressure in two stages for stable, consistent downstream delivery. Twin-stage regulators perform both high-pressure and low-pressure regulation in a single unit, reducing the need for separate inline components. This regulator is typically installed by licensed plumbers or gas fitters working on residential or light commercial LP gas systems.
The 988tw-17 suits applications where a single compact regulator must handle the full pressure-reduction sequence from the LP storage vessel to the appliance supply line. Its 750,000 BTU/h rating makes it appropriate for installations serving multiple appliances or higher-demand equipment. The FPOL inlet connects directly to standard POL-style LP cylinder or tank valves, and the 1/2-inch FPT outlet threads into standard gas piping or manifold assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation twin-stage LP gas regulator for residential and light commercial propane gas supply systems using FPOL tank connections and 1/2-inch FPT piping.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber or gas fitter in accordance with NFPA 54, NFPA 58, and all applicable local codes. Shut off the LP tank service valve and verify zero pressure in the line before removing any existing regulator. Use an approved thread sealant rated for LP gas service on all FPT connections, and leak-test all joints with an approved solution after installation. Never use an open flame for leak detection.
