The CARRIER ksaic0401230 is a second-generation 24-volt interface kit designed to integrate ductless mini-split systems with conventional single-stage thermostats. It bridges the communication gap between third-party, single-stage thermostat controls and variable-speed ductless equipment, allowing installers to use standard low-voltage thermostat wiring rather than proprietary controls. The kit operates at 230 volts and measures 7.8 inches high by 11.1 inches wide by 2.5 inches deep. HVAC technicians working on ductless retrofits or thermostat upgrades are the primary installers of this device.
This interface kit is suited for both single-zone and multi-zone ductless installations where the end user requires control from a conventional thermostat. It preserves the variable-speed operation of the connected ductless system, maintaining efficiency and comfort without forcing the system into single-speed operation. It is appropriate for residential and light-commercial ductless applications where thermostat compatibility is a project requirement.
Compatible with DLFPHA, DLFSHA, and DLFEHA High Wall ductless systems; DLFSCA and DLFLCA Cassette systems; DLFSDA and DLFLDA Ducted systems; and DLFSFA and DLFLFA Console ductless systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician familiar with low-voltage control wiring and ductless system configurations. Power down the indoor and outdoor units at the disconnect before making any wiring connections to this kit. Follow the equipment manufacturer wiring diagrams and consult local mechanical codes for low-voltage control circuit requirements. Do not apply line voltage to the low-voltage thermostat terminals.
