The CARMEX SIR0750P22 is an indexable threading toolholder designed for internal, right-hand threading operations. It features a 0.75 x 0.75 inch square shank and an overall length of 7 inches, making it suited for boring bar setups in CNC lathes and manual turning centers. The toolholder accepts 22IR series inserts, secured via a screw-clamping method for reliable insert retention under cutting loads. With a minimum bore diameter of 0.9 inches and a neck diameter of 0.75 inches, this holder provides the clearance geometry required for internal thread cutting in tight-bore applications. Installation and setup are handled by machinists and toolroom technicians.
This toolholder is intended for internal threading applications in metalworking environments, including job shops, production machine shops, and toolrooms. The SIR series geometry is commonly used on CNC turning centers and manual lathes where precision internal threads must be cut in bored workpieces. The right-hand cut orientation suits standard spindle-forward operations. No coolant-through capability is included in this configuration, making it appropriate for dry or flood-coolant external setups. The 0.9 inch back-of-bar to cutting edge and center-to-cutting-edge dimension both measure 0.9 inches, supporting consistent thread depth control.
Designed for use with 22IR series indexable threading inserts with a 0.5 inch inscribed circle. Fits standard 0.75 x 0.75 inch square-shank toolholder pockets on CNC turning centers and manual lathes configured for internal threading operations.
Installation and setup are performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with indexable tooling systems. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the lathe is locked out before changing inserts or mounting the toolholder. Torque the insert-clamping screw to the insert manufacturer's specification using the appropriate Torx or hex key. Verify shank seating and tool overhang before taking a trial cut, and confirm bore clearance against the 0.9 inch minimum bore diameter requirement before starting the operation.
