The CARMEX MTR4R0.2L10 is a solid carbide boring bar designed for internal turning and bore finishing operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. It features a right-hand cutting direction, a minimum bore diameter of 0.16 inches, and a maximum bore depth of 0.39 inches. The overall length is 2 inches, and the corner radius is 0.008 inches. The bright finish coating reduces built-up edge and supports clean chip evacuation in tight bore conditions. This tool is suited for precision boring work where rigidity and accuracy are critical requirements.
This boring bar is used in small-bore internal machining applications on CNC turning centers and live-tool lathes. It is well suited for finishing passes in bore diameters starting at 0.16 inches, making it practical for small component work in aerospace, medical device, and general precision machining environments. The 4 mm shank diameter fits standard small-bore toolholders and quick-change systems commonly found in production turning setups. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers of this tooling.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit boring bar for CNC lathes and turning centers equipped with 4 mm shank toolholding systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Secure the shank firmly in the toolholder to the manufacturer-specified clamping method to prevent tool pull-out during cutting. Verify bore depth and diameter offsets in the CNC control before beginning a production run.
