The CARMEX K-8 is a T6 Torx driver key designed for seating and securing indexable inserts in boring bar toolholders. It provides the precise torque transfer needed to properly clamp indexable inserts without damaging the seating pocket or the insert itself. This type of driver key is a standard service tool used by machinists and tool-room technicians working with indexable cutting systems on lathes and boring operations. The T6 Torx drive interface resists cam-out under repeated use, making it a reliable choice for high-volume insert changeovers on the shop floor.
The K-8 is intended for use with boring bar toolholders and is compatible with the SIR 0265 K08 toolholder style. It is also compatible with 08 IR A60 BXC indexable inserts. Typical applications include internal turning and boring operations on CNC and manual lathes where small-format indexable insert toolholders are in use. This driver key suits production environments where insert indexing is performed frequently and a dedicated, properly sized key is required for consistent clamping torque.
Compatible with the SIR 0265 K08 boring bar toolholder style and 08 IR A60 BXC indexable inserts. Industry standard reference number is KO8.
Insert changeovers should be performed by a qualified machinist or tool-room technician with the machine powered down and the spindle locked or at a full stop. Use only the correct T6 Torx key to avoid rounding the screw head or damaging the insert pocket. Do not apply excessive force beyond the recommended seating feel for the toolholder system in use.
