The CARMEX C12G60MT7 is a solid carbide threading turning insert designed for both internal and external thread cutting operations. Built to Manufacturer Grade MT7 from submicron carbide with a coated finish, this insert delivers consistent thread form accuracy across ISO and UN thread standards. The 60-degree included angle suits the most common thread profiles used in general machining. It supports internal pitches from 1.00 to 2.00 mm and 28 to 13 TPI, and external pitches from 0.80 to 1.75 mm and 32 to 15 TPI. Insert Size 12 makes it compatible with standard toolholders in that class. Machinists and CNC operators use this insert on lathes for production threading across a wide range of workpiece materials.
This insert is suited for threading operations in both production and job-shop environments. Its left-hand and right-hand geometry covers the majority of threading setups without requiring separate insert inventory for each orientation. Applications include threading on external diameters and internal bores where ISO or UN thread forms are required. The coated submicron carbide construction supports use on steel, stainless, and similar machinable alloys typical in general metalworking and precision component manufacturing.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement threading insert for Size 12 insert toolholders accepting 60-degree thread form inserts in ISO and UN configurations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician with the machine powered off and spindle locked before seating or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate torx or hex key for the clamping screw and seat the insert fully into the pocket before torquing. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or damage before each insert change. Follow shop safety procedures and applicable machine tool manufacturer guidelines during tooling changes.
