The CARMEX 22UIR4ACMEP25C is a solid carbide laydown threading insert designed for cutting internal Acme threads on a lathe or CNC turning center. It operates at 4 threads per inch (TPI) with a right-hand cutting orientation and features a 1/2 inch inscribed circle (IC) and a thickness of 0.187 inches. The P25C manufacturer grade with PVD-applied TiN coating provides wear resistance across a wide range of workpiece materials. Machinists and CNC operators use this insert for producing precision internal Acme thread forms in production and maintenance machining environments.
This insert is suited for internal Acme thread applications in both light production and job-shop settings. The 29-degree included angle matches the Acme thread standard profile. Its universal primary workpiece material rating covers a broad spectrum of materials, making it adaptable across ferrous and non-ferrous applications. Typical installations involve threading bores in mechanical components such as lead screws, jacks, and linear actuators where Acme thread forms are specified.
Designed for use in 22IR-series toolholders accepting laydown threading inserts with a 1/2 inch inscribed circle. Verify toolholder seating and clamping requirements before installation.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC operators during a tooling setup procedure. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or removing the insert. Use the appropriate torx or clamp screw driver to secure the insert per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the insert seating pocket for chips or damage before clamping to ensure proper contact and thread form accuracy.
