The CARMEX 22UER4STACMP25C is a solid carbide laydown threading insert designed for right-hand external Stub Acme threading operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a P25C manufacturer grade with a C5 material grade and a PVD-applied TiC/TiN coating that improves wear resistance and extends tool life in demanding cutting conditions. The insert cuts at 4 threads per inch (TPI) with a 29-degree included angle, matching the Stub Acme thread standard. With a 1/2-inch inscribed circle (IC) and a thickness of 0.187 inches, this insert seats securely in compatible ER-style laydown toolholders. It is suited for machinists and tooling specialists working across a broad range of workpiece materials.
This insert is intended for external Stub Acme thread-turning applications where a 4 TPI pitch is required. Its universal workpiece material compatibility covers material grade designations H, K, M, N, P, and S, making it adaptable to steel, stainless, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, high-temp alloys, and similar materials. It is well-suited for production threading on lead screws, power transmission components, and similar Stub Acme-threaded parts. The right-hand cutting geometry applies to standard forward-turning setups. This insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces per order.
Designed for use in 22ER-style laydown threading toolholders that accept a 1/2-inch inscribed circle insert. Confirm toolholder pocket geometry and insert seating style before installation.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician following the machine tool manufacturer's lockout and toolchange procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is indexed to a safe position before handling inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert clamp screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer when seating the insert. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or damage before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and tool life.
