The insert features a micrograin carbide substrate in the MXC manufacturer grade, finished with a PVD-applied TiN coating for extended tool life across a broad range of workpiece materials. The 45-degree included angle and 1-degree relief angle are ground to suit right-hand external Buttress thread geometry. With an inscribed circle of 0.5 inches and a thickness of 0.187 inches, this insert fits standard 22 ER-style toolholders. Machinists and toolroom operators install this insert on CNC lathes and manual turning centers for single-pass or multi-pass threading operations.
