The CARMEX 16IR6STACMEP30 is a solid carbide, uncoated laydown threading insert designed for internal Stub Acme thread cutting on CNC lathes and manual threading operations. It cuts at 6 threads per inch (TPI) with a 29-degree included angle, conforming to the Stub Acme thread standard. The insert carries a P30 manufacturer grade and C5 material grade, making it suitable for a broad range of workpiece materials. With a 3/8 inch (0.3750 inch) inscribed circle and a thickness of 0.146 inches, this right-hand insert seats in standard 16IR-style toolholders. Installation and setup are handled by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is used for generating internal Stub Acme threads in applications such as lead screws, power transmission components, and actuator assemblies. The Stub Acme profile is common in applications requiring a shallower thread depth than a full Acme form while retaining load-bearing strength. It is rated for universal primary workpiece material compatibility, covering material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, which span steels, stainless steels, cast irons, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. Sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in 16IR-style threading toolholders that accept a 3/8 inch inscribed circle laydown insert. Compatible with CNC and manual lathes equipped for internal threading operations using the Stub Acme thread standard.
This insert is installed by machinists or CNC setup personnel into a compatible 16IR-style boring bar or internal threading toolholder. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool turret de-energized before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert clamp hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer when seating the insert. Verify thread pitch and hand orientation against the workpiece drawing before starting any threading pass.
