The CARMEX 16IR14STACMEP30 is a solid carbide, uncoated laydown threading insert designed for right-hand internal Stub Acme thread cutting at 14 threads per inch. Manufactured to P30 grade with a C5 material classification, this insert features a 3/8 inch (0.375 inch) inscribed circle and a thickness of 0.146 inches. The 29-degree included angle matches Stub Acme thread form geometry. Solid carbide construction provides rigidity and wear resistance in a wide range of workpiece materials. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and tooling specialists in precision machining environments are the primary users of this insert.
This insert is suited for internal Stub Acme thread-cutting operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. It is compatible with universal workpiece materials spanning multiple material groups including ferrous metals, stainless, non-ferrous alloys, and high-temp materials. The 16IR insert style designation indicates compatibility with 16-series boring bars and toolholders configured for laydown threading inserts. Typical applications include threaded rod, lead screw, and actuator component production where Stub Acme thread profiles are specified.
Designed for use in 16-series laydown threading toolholders and boring bars configured for internal Stub Acme thread cutting. Universal primary workpiece material rating covers ferrous, stainless, cast iron, non-ferrous, general steel, and heat-resistant alloy groups.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is secured before seating or replacing the insert. Verify the insert is properly seated and clamped per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before initiating a cutting pass. Confirm thread form, TPI, and hand orientation match the workpiece drawing before running the first thread cycle.
