The CARMEX 11ER44UNP25 is a laydown-style threading insert designed for external right-hand UN thread cutting at 44 threads per inch. Manufactured from solid carbide in grade P25C (material grade C5), it carries a TiN coating applied by PVD process for improved wear resistance and extended tool life. The insert features a 1/4-inch (0.2500-inch) inscribed circle and a thickness of 0.1270 inches. It is suited for CNC lathes and manual turning centers where consistent, accurate thread form on external UN profiles is required. Machinists and toolroom professionals working in production or maintenance environments are the primary users.
This insert is used in external threading operations on UN-standard thread forms at 44 TPI. It fits toolholders sized for the 11ER insert style with a 1/4-inch inscribed circle. Typical applications include threading of bolts, studs, fittings, and precision shafts in metalworking shops handling steel and similar materials matched to the P25C grade range. Right-hand cutting orientation is standard for conventional thread direction.
Designed for use with 11ER-style external threading toolholders accepting a 1/4-inch inscribed circle insert. Confirm toolholder bore and clamping style prior to installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully and flat in the pocket before tightening the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the insert seat and clamping components for chips or debris that could affect insert stability or thread accuracy.
