The CARLON E943GRCTN is a 1-1/4 inch PVC terminal adapter designed to connect polyvinyl chloride conduit to electrical boxes, threaded fittings, and metallic conduit systems. One end features male threads; the other end is a solvent-weld socket that accepts standard PVC conduit. This adapter is UL listed and provides a reliable transition point between non-metallic and metallic portions of a conduit run. Electricians use this fitting when transitioning from PVC underground or exposed runs into metallic enclosures, junction boxes, or panels. It is a single-piece fitting sold individually.
This terminal adapter is suited for residential and light commercial electrical installations where PVC conduit must interface with threaded metallic enclosures or conduit bodies. Common applications include service entrance work, underground feeder runs terminating at a panel or meter enclosure, and any installation where a solvent-weld PVC conduit system connects to a box with a threaded hub. It is appropriate for use in wet, damp, and dry locations consistent with PVC conduit applications.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for use with 1-1/4 inch schedule 40 or schedule 80 PVC conduit systems transitioning to threaded metallic boxes or enclosures.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize the circuit and verify with a meter before working in any enclosure. The socket end is bonded to PVC conduit using appropriate PVC conduit cement and primer per manufacturer and NEC guidelines. Hand-tighten the male-threaded end into the box hub, then snug with a strap wrench - do not over-torque PVC threads against metallic hubs.
