The CAMBRIDGE RESOURCES 506200 is a black reducing 90-degree elbow fitting designed for directional changes in piping runs where a reduction in pipe size is required at the same joint. This single-piece fitting transitions from a 1-inch inlet to a 1/2-inch outlet while turning the line 90 degrees, eliminating the need for a separate reducer and elbow. It is used in gas piping, plumbing, and similar threaded pipe systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting as part of rough-in and service work on residential and light commercial systems.
This fitting is sold as a single unit and is suited for applications where a piping run must change direction and step down in pipe size simultaneously. Its black finish is standard for gas distribution piping, making it a common choice in natural gas and propane supply lines. It is also used in water and air distribution systems where black malleable or black iron threaded fittings are specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for threaded black pipe systems, typically in residential and light commercial gas, water, or air distribution applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes, the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC), or the International Plumbing Code (IPC) depending on the service. Shut off the gas supply or isolate the water or air line and relieve pressure before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Use appropriate pipe thread sealant rated for the intended service medium. Do not overtighten threaded connections, as this can crack fittings or damage threads.
