The C2G C2G41482 is a 25-foot (8-meter) high-speed HDMI active optical cable (AOC) rated for plenum-space installation. Active optical construction uses fiber optic technology inside a standard HDMI connector interface, allowing the cable to carry uncompressed high-definition video and audio signals over distances that exceed the practical limits of traditional copper HDMI cables. The plenum rating means the cable jacket meets smoke and flame-spread requirements for use in air-handling spaces above drop ceilings and below raised floors. This cable is installed by AV integrators, low-voltage technicians, and structured cabling contractors working on commercial and institutional projects.
This cable is suited for permanent in-wall and in-ceiling runs in commercial buildings, conference rooms, classrooms, hospitality installations, and digital signage deployments where code requires plenum-rated cabling. The active optical design eliminates signal degradation over the 25-foot run without requiring external power injectors at the source end, making it appropriate for clean, production-quality AV infrastructure. Standard HDMI terminations on both ends allow direct connection to source devices and displays without adapters.
Designed as a high-speed HDMI AOC replacement or new-installation cable for commercial AV systems requiring plenum-rated cabling in air-handling spaces.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or AV systems contractor following applicable local codes and NEC Article 800 requirements for plenum-rated cabling. Power down connected source and display equipment before making or breaking HDMI connections. Active optical cables are directional on some designs; verify source and display ends before pulling the cable through conduit or ceiling spaces. Avoid sharp bend radii and do not exceed the cable minimum bend radius during routing to prevent damage to the internal fiber.
