The BUCHANAN BPS2B-JR is a 1/2 inch insulated two-nail cable staple designed for securing nonmetallic sheathed cable in residential and light commercial electrical installations. The staple body is molded from plastic with a smooth saddle profile that protects cable insulation from pinching or abrasion during fastening. The nails are zinc plated for corrosion and rust resistance. Each jar contains 400 staples, making it practical for rough-in wiring jobs where large quantities are needed. Licensed electricians and apprentices working on branch circuit wiring are the primary installers of this fastener type.
The BPS2B-JR is suited for use on ROMEX wire, NM cable, and UF cable in typical residential branch circuit rough-in work. The insulated saddle keeps the cable body separated from the nail shanks, reducing the risk of insulation damage during installation. The two-nail design provides a stable, balanced hold against framing members. UV resistance in the plastic body makes it appropriate for exposed applications where UF cable is run along exterior or partially shaded surfaces prior to burial or final concealment.
Designed for use on ROMEX wire, NM cable, and UF cable at 1/2 inch trade size.
Installed by licensed electricians during electrical rough-in in accordance with NEC requirements for cable securing intervals and fastener placement near boxes. De-energize any circuits in the work area before stapling near existing wiring. Drive nails flush to the framing surface without overdriving, as overdriving can compress the cable saddle and damage insulation. Do not use staples as a substitute for listed cable supports in locations requiring specific strain relief or conduit.
