The BSC PREFERRED VHB595212R is a double-sided VHB foam tape engineered to replace mechanical fasteners such as rivets, bolts, screws, spot-welds, and liquid adhesives in a wide range of bonding applications. Built around a conformable black foam core with acrylic adhesive on both sides and a red polyethylene liner, this tape delivers a permanent, load-bearing bond to metal, glass, plastics, and painted surfaces. It resists moisture, solvents, and UV exposure, and maintains performance across a temperature range of -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F. Rated UL746C, it is suited for installation by electricians, HVAC technicians, and general trade contractors who need a fast, reliable fastening solution without drilling or welding.
This tape is used in residential and commercial applications where bonding to irregular, mixed, or dissimilar substrates is required. Common scenarios include mounting trim and panels, securing nameplates and signage, bonding plastic enclosures, and joining painted metal components. Its conformable foam construction allows it to follow surface contours, making it effective where rigid fasteners would leave gaps or stress the substrate. Trade installers working with HVAC equipment enclosures, electrical panels, or building material assemblies will find it a practical alternative to mechanical fastening.
Designed as a permanent adhesive fastening solution for bonding metal, glass, plastics, and painted surfaces in residential and commercial trade applications.
Surface preparation is critical - clean bonding surfaces thoroughly to remove oils, dust, and loose coatings before application. Apply firm, even pressure across the full tape area to ensure maximum contact and adhesion. Allow adequate dwell time at room temperature before applying load or stress to the bond. No power shutoff is required for tape-only installations, but follow applicable local codes when bonding near electrical enclosures or gas-carrying components.
