The BSC PREFERRED T964130C is a linerless, highly conformable high-voltage insulating tape engineered for primary electrical insulation on solid dielectric cable splices rated up to 69,000 volts. The tape combines an aggressive rubber-resin adhesive with a self-fusing ethylene propylene backing, producing void-free buildups and a moisture-tight seal on completed splices. Rated for use in temperatures from 0 to 194 degrees F, it holds performance across a wide range of field conditions. Electricians and cable splicers working on medium- and high-voltage distribution systems rely on this tape where dielectric integrity and moisture exclusion are critical. Sold as a case of 24 rolls.
This tape is suited for medium- and high-voltage electrical applications in utility, industrial, and commercial installations. It is the appropriate choice wherever primary insulation is required on solid dielectric cable splices operating at voltages up to 69,000V. The linerless construction allows direct application without a release liner to manage, speeding up the splicing process in tight conduit or vault environments. The self-fusing ethylene propylene backing bonds to itself under tension, eliminating voids that can lead to partial discharge or moisture ingress over time.

Installation of high-voltage cable splices must be performed by qualified electricians in accordance with applicable NEC requirements and utility or facility standards for the voltage class involved. De-energize, lock out, and verify the absence of voltage on all conductors before beginning splice work. Apply the tape under consistent tension to achieve the self-fusing bond and void-free buildup specified for the voltage rating. Do not stretch beyond the tape manufacturer's recommended elongation range, as over-stretching can reduce dielectric thickness and degrade insulation performance.
