The BSC PREFERRED T964035Y is a color-coded PVC electrical tape designed for identification of electrical phases, circuits, leads, and piping systems. It features a pressure-sensitive rubber-resin adhesive backed by a flame-retardant PVC film that resists UV rays, abrasion, moisture, alkalis, solvents, and many types of acids. Rated for insulating and splicing wire applications up to 600 volts, it operates across a temperature range of 32 to 221 degrees F. Electricians, maintenance technicians, and piping system installers use this tape for phase identification, circuit labeling, and general wire management in residential and commercial applications. This SKU is sold as a case of 100 rolls.
This tape is well suited for use in commercial and industrial electrical work where phase color-coding and circuit identification are required by code or standard practice. It is equally useful in plumbing and mechanical rooms where pipe system identification is needed. The combination of chemical resistance and flame retardancy makes it appropriate for environments where tapes may be exposed to cleaning agents, moisture, or elevated temperatures. It installs by hand with no additional tools required, making it a practical addition to any service kit or tool bag.
Designed as a general-purpose color-coded PVC electrical and identification tape suitable for standard wire insulation, splicing, and phase or circuit labeling applications up to 600 volts. Equivalent to part number S-13975Y.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician or licensed tradesperson in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize all circuits before applying tape to live conductors or splices. Apply the tape with firm, overlapping tension to ensure full adhesion and avoid voids in the insulation wrap. Avoid stretching the tape beyond its rated limits, as over-extension can reduce adhesion and long-term performance.
