The BSC PREFERRED T963291 is a polyimide film tape with a silicone adhesive backing, engineered for use in high-temperature and electrically demanding environments. The polyimide film substrate delivers a unique combination of electrical insulation, thermal stability, chemical resistance, and mechanical durability, allowing it to withstand extreme heat, vibration, and harsh service conditions. Maximum rated temperature is 500 degrees F. The silicone adhesive leaves no residue upon removal, making it a clean choice for sensitive assemblies. This tape is installed by electronics technicians, automotive service professionals, and manufacturing personnel across a wide range of industrial and trade applications.
T963291 is suited for both industrial manufacturing and field service scenarios where standard tapes would fail under heat or chemical exposure. Common applications include insulating printed circuit boards, high-temperature powder coating masking, wave soldering during circuit board assembly, automotive sensor and manifold insulation, fiber optics cable management, etching processes, and semiconductor manufacturing. The tape is sold in cases of 36 rolls, making it appropriate for shop stocking or production-line use.
This tape is equivalent to part number S-7595. It is designed as a general-purpose polyimide masking and insulating tape compatible with circuit board assembly, powder coating, and other high-temperature industrial processes where a silicone-adhesive polyimide film is specified.
Apply to clean, dry surfaces free of oils, dust, and loose debris for optimal adhesion. Use appropriate hand tools or dispenser equipment when unrolling tape on production lines or during bench assembly. When used in electrical applications, follow applicable NEC guidelines for insulation and dielectric requirements. Remove tape after the thermal process cycle is complete and surfaces have cooled to a safe handling temperature.
