The BSC PREFERRED SPB16 is an impulse-style bag sealer designed for sealing polyethylene and polypropylene bags and tubing. Unlike constant-heat sealers, it requires no warm-up time - the heating element activates only during the sealing cycle, reducing energy use and burn risk. To create a seal, the operator places the bag or tubing between the seal bars, presses down, and releases. An adjustable timer allows the technician to dial in the correct dwell time for a wide range of poly film thicknesses, producing consistent, reliable seals across varying material gauges.

The SPB16 is suited for packaging operations in warehouse, fulfillment, light manufacturing, and supply distribution environments. It handles standard polyethylene and polypropylene bags and lay-flat tubing commonly used for parts packaging, product bagging, and inventory protection. Service kits are available separately and contain 2 heating elements and 2 PTFE glass cloth tape strips, making field maintenance straightforward without requiring full unit replacement.
