The BSC PREFERRED PS5220 is a heavy-duty polyester strapping roll designed as an economical, high-performance alternative to steel strapping. Made from polyester, this strapping is non-corrosive and UV resistant, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor bundling and unitizing applications. It retains tension longer than polypropylene and other common strapping materials, which helps maintain secure loads during storage and transit. At roughly 80% lighter than steel strapping, it reduces fatigue during high-volume strapping operations. Compatible with serrated or sandpaper seals for secure closures. This product is a direct equivalent to part number S-6681.
The PS5220 polyester strapping is suited for distribution centers, warehouses, and manufacturing facilities that require reliable load containment without the handling hazards or corrosion risks associated with steel strapping. It is commonly used on pallet unitizing lines, bundling heavy corrugated cartons, and securing machinery or building materials for shipment. Its high tensile strength makes it appropriate for heavier loads where polypropylene strapping would be undersized. The roll format is compatible with standard strapping dispensers and manual or semi-automatic tensioning tools.
Direct equivalent to part number S-6681. Designed for use with standard manual, semi-automatic, or automatic polyester strapping tools and tensioners that accept compatible strap widths and thickness. Seal with serrated or sandpaper seals.
Polyester strapping installation is typically performed by warehouse, shipping, or packaging personnel using a strap tensioner and sealer tool appropriate for the strap gauge. Ensure the tensioning tool is properly rated for polyester strap before use, as polypropylene-only tools may not be compatible. Inspect strap and seals for damage before applying to loaded pallets. Follow facility safety guidelines when cutting strapping under tension, as released strapping can cause injury.
