The BSC PREFERRED HLT117 is a hook and loop touch fastener strip with a rubber-based, pressure-sensitive adhesive backing designed for mounting signs, posters, displays, tools, and other light-duty items to walls and surfaces. When the hook side and loop side are pressed together, hundreds of hooks interlock with hundreds of loops to form a secure bond. Pulling the two sides apart straightens the hooks and releases the connection cleanly. The adhesive is formulated to perform in both high and low temperature environments, and the fastener material is weather-resistant for indoor and outdoor use. Hook and loop sides are sold separately.
The HLT117 is suited for facility maintenance, display installation, retail signage, and general hardware applications in commercial and light industrial settings. Installers in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general trades use hook and loop fastener strips to secure cable bundles, labels, access panel covers, and lightweight components where screw fastening is not practical. The rubber-based adhesive provides reliable adhesion to smooth, clean surfaces across a range of ambient temperatures, making this strip a practical choice for both climate-controlled interiors and exposed environments.
The HLT117 is compatible with the corresponding BSC PREFERRED loop or hook strip sold separately. It is noted as equivalent to part number S-17140. Suitable for smooth, clean mounting surfaces in general hardware, display, and light industrial applications.
Clean and dry the mounting surface thoroughly before applying the adhesive backing to ensure maximum bond strength. Press the strip firmly against the surface and allow the adhesive to cure according to manufacturer guidance before loading. No tools are required for basic application, though a roller or firm hand pressure improves adhesion on porous surfaces. Do not exceed the rated load capacity of the fastener strip and inspect the adhesive bond periodically in high-vibration or high-moisture environments.
