The BSC PREFERRED DS1019 is a multi-layer moisture barrier bag designed to protect electronic components from damage caused by moisture ingress and electrostatic discharge. These bags provide combined ESD and moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) shielding in a single packaging solution. Each bag is heat sealable, making them compatible with standard impulse and continuous-band sealers, and they support vacuum packaging applications where air removal is required for added component protection. The DS1019 is sold in cases of 100 bags. Installation and use requires no specialized trade certification, but proper sealing technique is essential for achieving rated barrier performance.
The DS1019 bags are suited for commercial electronics packaging, including circuit boards, sensors, connectors, and other electrostatic-sensitive devices (ESDs) requiring long-term storage or shipment. They are appropriate for use in electronics manufacturing, MRO supply operations, and service depot environments where components must be staged, kitted, or shipped without exposure to humidity or static charge. This product is intended for commercial use only and is not listed on the Qualified Product Listing under the Defense Standardization Program. The DS1019 is equivalent to part number S-6502.
Equivalent to part number S-6502. Intended for commercial packaging of electrostatic-sensitive electronic components requiring combined moisture and static discharge protection.
These bags are installed using a heat sealer; ensure the sealer is set to the appropriate temperature range for the bag material to achieve a complete, airtight seal. For vacuum packaging, use a chamber or external vacuum sealer compatible with multi-layer barrier film. Inspect each seal after closing to confirm no gaps or channels are present before storage or shipment. No electrical shutdown or trade licensure is required for use, but operators should follow applicable ESD handling procedures when packaging sensitive components.
