The BSC PREFERRED DIB52PCLF is a straight quarter-turn shut-off valve designed for residential and light commercial plumbing supply lines. It features a 3/8-inch female iron pipe (FIP) inlet and a 3/8-inch OD compression outlet, making it a standard choice for connecting supply tubes to fixtures such as faucets and toilets. The valve operates with a quarter-turn ball mechanism, allowing fast and positive shutoff. The chrome finish provides a clean appearance for exposed installations. Wetted surfaces are manufactured to contain no more than 0.25% weighted average lead content, meeting low-lead compliance requirements applicable in many jurisdictions.
This valve is suited for use in residential potable water supply applications, typically installed on fixture angle stops, inline shutoffs, or similar low-pressure supply line connections. It is commonly used when connecting a 3/8-inch OD flexible supply tube to a 3/8-inch female-threaded port on a supply stop or manifold. Licensed plumbers and experienced plumbing contractors install this type of fitting during fixture rough-in, renovation work, and fixture replacement projects.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation straight shut-off valve for residential plumbing supply lines using 3/8-inch FIP threaded ports and 3/8-inch OD compression supply tube connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the main water supply and relieve line pressure before removing any existing valve or fitting. Use appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape on the FIP threaded connection and verify the compression ferrule is properly seated before tightening. Do not overtighten the compression nut, as this can deform the ferrule and cause leaks.
