The BSC PREFERRED DES146 is a silica gel desiccant packet designed to prevent moisture damage in small, sealed packages. Each packet is filled with amorphous silicate, which delivers high moisture adsorption capacity at temperatures below 75 degrees F and relative humidity levels above 40 percent. The packets are constructed for durability and high adsorption rates, making them suitable for protecting sensitive contents in tightly enclosed environments. Each unit protects up to 141 cubic inches of enclosed space. This case contains 3,000 packets, making it well suited for high-volume packaging operations across food, pharmaceutical, and industrial supply applications.
These desiccant packets are used in small, sealed packaging where moisture control is critical. Typical applications include pharmaceutical packaging, food storage, electronics, and industrial components that require dry conditions during storage or transit. The packets meet FDA specifications for direct food and drug contact, making them compliant for use in regulated industries. Their compact format fits standard packaging lines and manual insertion workflows alike.
The DES146 is equivalent to part number S-3904. Designed for use in small, sealed packages across food, pharmaceutical, and general industrial packaging applications.
Insert packets into sealed packages or containers prior to final closure. Ensure the enclosure is properly sealed to allow the desiccant to function effectively. Avoid exposing packets to open air for extended periods before use, as premature exposure will reduce adsorption capacity. No tools or trade licensing are required for standard packaging insertion.
