The BSC PREFERRED 496-004DIB is a flexible faucet supply line designed to connect water supply to residential and commercial faucets. It features a reinforced PVC inner core tubing wrapped with braided stainless steel strands, providing kink resistance, crush protection, and reliable flow in exposed plumbing locations. The line measures 24 inches in length and is configured with a 3/8-inch compression fitting on one end and a 1/2-inch female iron pipe fitting on the other. Licensed plumbers and skilled DIYers install this line during faucet replacements and new fixture rough-ins.
This supply line suits both hot and cold water applications in residential kitchens, bathrooms, and light commercial settings. The braided stainless steel outer jacket protects against abrasion and incidental impact in exposed under-sink installations. The compression-to-female-iron-pipe configuration matches the most common faucet shank and shutoff valve combinations found in standard residential and commercial plumbing systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement supply line for residential and light commercial faucets requiring a 3/8-inch compression inlet and a 1/2-inch female iron pipe outlet connection.
Shut off the water supply at the angle stop valve and relieve line pressure before removing the existing supply line. Hand-tighten the compression fitting onto the shutoff valve outlet, then snug with an adjustable wrench — avoid overtightening, which can crack compression nuts. Confirm all fittings are fully seated before restoring water pressure and check for leaks. Installation must comply with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC standards.
