The BSC PREFERRED 19522 is a two-item kit containing a 4 oz medium-body, medium-set multipurpose cement and a 4 oz all-purpose pipe cleaner. The cement bonds PVC, CPVC, and ABS pipe and fittings in a single solvent-weld application. The cleaner strips grease, dirt, and surface oxidation from pipe ends and fitting sockets prior to cementing. Together, this kit covers both steps of a proper solvent-weld joint prep sequence. Licensed plumbers and experienced DIYers alike reach for this combination when working on residential drain, waste, vent, and supply piping.
This kit is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing repairs and installations involving PVC, CPVC, and ABS pipe systems. The medium-body cement works across a range of pipe diameters commonly found in drain-waste-vent and cold-water supply applications. The cleaner prepares pipe surfaces to ensure full cement penetration and a sound, leak-free joint. The compact 4 oz size is practical for service calls, small repairs, and single-fixture rough-ins where a full-size container would go to waste.
Designed for use on PVC, CPVC, and ABS pipe and fittings in residential and light commercial plumbing applications.
This work is typically performed by licensed plumbers or qualified DIYers following local plumbing code, which often references IPC or IRC standards for solvent-weld joints. Before applying cleaner or cement, shut off water supply to the affected line and relieve system pressure. Apply cleaner first to both the pipe end and fitting socket, then apply cement while surfaces are still tacky. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer instructions before pressurizing the system.
