The BRUSH RESEARCH MFG. GBD31218 is a flexible cylinder hone designed for finishing, deglazing, and cross-hatch honing of cylinder bores. It uses silicon carbide abrasive balls mounted on flexible steel stems, allowing the tool to self-center and conform to the bore as it works. The abrasive grade is extra fine at 180 grit, suited for light material removal and surface finishing rather than aggressive stock removal. The tool handles bores up to 3.5 inches in diameter and runs at a maximum of 900 RPM. Machinists, engine rebuilders, and maintenance technicians use this hone in drill presses, portable drills, or honing machines.

This hone is appropriate for use in mild steel, stainless steel, and cast iron bores in both shop and field environments.
