The BRUSH RESEARCH MFG. BCKDBR12 is a 10-piece flexible hone and deburring kit covering bore diameters from 0.25 inches to 2 inches. Each hone uses silicon carbide abrasive at 120 grit, making it well-suited for deburring, surface finishing, and edge blending in metallic bores across a range of bore sizes. The hones have an overall length of 8 inches and mount to a standard drill or low-speed rotary tool. Machinists, engine builders, hydraulic technicians, and general metal fabricators use this kit to prepare cylinder bores, valve bodies, hydraulic housings, and similar components for assembly or inspection.
This kit is intended for shop and field use wherever bore finishing is required across varied bore sizes in a single job or across multiple work orders. The 10 included sizes step progressively from 0.25 inches through 2 inches, reducing the need to stock individual hones for common bore ranges. The kit is packaged with a pint of Flex-Hone lubricating oil, a BRM hat, a flash drive, and a sticker. It is appropriate for use in automotive, industrial, and mechanical trades where bore condition directly affects seal life, fit, and component longevity.
Includes BRM Flex-Hone part numbers BC64M12, BC95M12, BC1212, BC5812, BC3412, BC7812, BC10012, BC11412, BC11212, and BC20012. Designed for use in any bore application within the 0.25 inch to 2 inch diameter range where silicon carbide abrasive at 120 grit is appropriate for the base material and finish requirement.
Flexible hones are installed by securing the shank in a drill chuck or low-speed rotary tool - consult BRM guidelines for recommended RPM ranges for each bore size. Always apply the included Flex-Hone oil or a compatible honing fluid during use to control heat and carry away swarf. Wear appropriate eye protection and secure the workpiece before operating. Do not run a flexible hone dry, as this accelerates abrasive wear and can damage the bore surface.
