The BRUSH RESEARCH MFG. BC9M2500CD is a flexible cylinder hone designed for precision finishing of small-diameter bores. It uses diamond abrasive at 2500 grit (extra fine grade) to produce a controlled, uniform surface finish inside tight bores up to 0.354 inches in diameter. The abrasive length is 2 inches, and the overall tool length is 8 inches, making it well-suited for deep or restricted access bore work. A shank diameter of 0.14 inches allows it to fit standard die grinders, drill presses, and flex-shaft tools. Maximum operating speed is 1200 RPM. This tool is used by machinists, toolmakers, and precision maintenance technicians working with hard or abrasive-resistant materials.
This hone is rated for use on carbide, ceramic, and hardened tool steel - materials that conventional abrasives struggle to finish consistently. It is appropriate for small engine work, hydraulic cylinder reconditioning, injector bore finishing, and precision tooling rework where bore geometry and surface finish tolerance are critical. The flexible ball-style abrasive segments conform to the bore as the tool rotates, maintaining consistent contact without aggressive stock removal.
Designed for use on bores up to 0.354 inches in diameter in carbide, ceramic, and hardened tool steel workpieces. Fits rotary tools, die grinders, and drill presses with a collet or chuck accepting a 0.14-inch shank.
This tool is intended for use by machinists and precision maintenance technicians operating rotary equipment. Secure the shank firmly in the tool chuck before operation and confirm the spindle speed does not exceed 1200 RPM. Use a compatible honing fluid or cutting lubricant appropriate for the workpiece material to extend abrasive life and improve surface finish. Inspect the abrasive balls for wear or damage before each use and do not force the hone into an undersized bore.
