The BRUSH RESEARCH MFG. BC11M12 is a flexible cylinder hone designed for precision surface finishing inside small-bore cylinders. Built with silicon carbide abrasive balls on flexible filaments, this tool conforms to the bore geometry and produces a consistent crosshatch finish suited for sealing and wear surfaces. It handles a maximum bore diameter of 0.43 inches and runs up to 1200 RPM. The overall length is 8 inches with a 2-inch abrasive length, making it practical for tight-access bores. Machinists, engine rebuilders, and maintenance technicians use this tool with a standard drill or drill press.
This hone is suited for use on mild steel, stainless steel, and cast iron bores. Typical applications include cylinder wall conditioning, valve guide finishing, hydraulic cylinder honing, and small-bore surface prep in both production and repair environments. The 120-grit silicon carbide abrasive delivers a fine cutting action appropriate for final finishing passes rather than aggressive material removal. The 0.14-inch shank diameter fits standard drill chucks commonly found in shop and field settings.
Designed for use on mild steel, stainless steel, and cast iron bores with a maximum diameter of 0.43 inches. Fits standard drill chucks via a 0.14-inch shank diameter.
This tool is installed into a standard handheld drill or drill press. Before use, secure the workpiece and confirm the chuck is tightened onto the 0.14-inch shank. Do not exceed 1200 RPM during operation. Use an appropriate cutting fluid or honing oil to extend abrasive life and improve surface finish quality.
