The BROWNING 3694734 is a Type B split taper bushing designed for secure, concentric shaft-to-sheave mounting in belt drive systems. Constructed from iron, it features a 0.75 inch bore with a 3/16 inch keyway width and 3/32 inch keyway depth, giving it a positive rotational lock on keyed shafts. The outside diameter measures 3.6875 inches, and the bushing accepts a 5/16 x 1-1/4 inch thread size for the clamping fasteners. Maximum rated torque is 192 inch-pounds. The split taper design allows easy installation and removal without damaging the sheave hub. Millwrights, mechanical contractors, and industrial maintenance technicians are the typical installers.
This bushing is intended for use with B5V sheaves in V-belt drive assemblies. It is suited for moderate-torque power transmission applications in HVAC, industrial, and commercial mechanical systems where a reliable, removable shaft connection is required. The split taper geometry self-centers the sheave on the shaft during installation, making alignment straightforward in both new installations and service replacements. Package quantity is one unit per order.
Designed for use with B5V sheaves as specified by the manufacturer. Confirm hub bore and keyway dimensions on the target sheave before installation.
De-energize and lock out the drive system before beginning installation per applicable NFPA 70E and OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Clean the shaft, bore, and hub tapers of any oil, grease, or debris before seating the bushing. Torque the clamping screws in a star pattern using a calibrated torque wrench to ensure even seating of the taper. Do not use impact tools on the clamping fasteners.
