The Broan-NuTone RDF1 Premium Radiation Damper is designed to prevent fire from spreading rapidly in homes. It is essential for use with ventilation fans in multi-family buildings. This product meets fire safety codes that require exhaust fans in fire-rated ceilings to have radiation dampers. Once the air temperature through the damper exceeds one hundred sixty-five degrees Fahrenheit, the thermal fabric automatically closes to halt airflow and act as a fire barrier.
