The BRASSCRAFT BC9441 is a chrome-plated dishwasher air gap fitting designed to prevent wastewater from siphoning back into the fresh water supply line of a dishwasher or similar appliance. The inlet accepts a 5/8 inch O.D. hose connection, and the outlet accommodates a 7/8 inch O.D. drain hose. The chrome-plated finish provides a clean, finished appearance at the sink deck. This fitting creates a physical break in the drain line, which stops contaminated water from flowing backward into the appliance water supply. It also provides a secondary drainage path if the drain hose becomes clogged, allowing water to discharge directly into the sink basin.
