The BRASSCRAFT bc-62-6x is a 3/8 inch compression union fitting used to join two sections of tubing in a pressurized fluid line without soldering or threading. The compression-style connection creates a reliable, leak-resistant seal by compressing a ferrule against the tubing wall as the nut is tightened. This type of union is a standard repair and installation component in residential and light commercial plumbing and HVAC applications. Plumbers and HVAC technicians install these fittings when making inline connections on copper, brass, or compatible soft tubing runs where a union joint is required.
The bc-62-6x is suited for use in potable water supply lines, hydronic heating circuits, refrigeration tubing, and similar low-to-moderate pressure service applications. Its 3/8 inch compression sizing fits the tubing dimensions common in residential water supply branch lines and small-diameter HVAC refrigerant or condensate-adjacent plumbing. The union configuration allows the joint to be disassembled and reassembled without cutting or reconfiguring the line.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use compression union for 3/8 inch tubing in residential plumbing and light commercial HVAC installations.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians. Shut off the water or system supply and depressurize the line before work begins. Cut tubing square and deburr the end before inserting into the compression nut and ferrule to ensure a proper seal. Hand-tighten the compression nut first, then advance with a wrench per standard compression fitting practice — avoid over-tightening, which can deform the ferrule and cause leaks.
