The BRASS CRAFT SERVICE PARTS CS40BX C1 is a chrome-plated angle shut-off valve designed for residential and light commercial plumbing supply connections. It features a 5/8 inch sweat inlet (1/2 inch nominal) on the supply side and a 3/8 inch OD compression outlet on the fixture side. A 5 inch extension tube is included, making it suitable for installations where the supply stub-out sits recessed behind a wall or cabinet. A bell flange is also included to cover the wall escutcheon opening cleanly. The valve is lead free compliant, meeting current drinking water safety standards. Licensed plumbers and skilled tradespeople install this type of valve as a final stop valve on potable water supply lines for faucets, toilets, and similar fixtures.
This angle valve is used in residential and light commercial potable water supply applications. The sweat inlet connects directly to copper supply tubing, while the compression outlet transitions to standard 3/8 inch OD supply lines feeding faucets, toilets, ice makers, or similar fixtures. The 5 inch extension tube accommodates deeper wall setbacks common in renovation work and new construction where framing depth pushes the stub-out back from the finished wall surface. Installation is performed by a licensed plumber. Shut off the main water supply and depressurize the line before soldering the sweat inlet or making any compression connection. The sweat connection requires standard copper tube preparation, flux, and lead free solder per applicable plumbing codes including IPC and local amendments. Do not apply torch heat after the compression fitting and supply tube are assembled, as heat can damage the compression components.
