The BRAMEC 14838 is an insulated copper thermostat wire staple designed to secure low-voltage thermostat wiring during installation. Each staple features an insulated construction that protects wire insulation from damage caused by direct metal-to-metal contact, reducing the risk of shorts or abrasion over time. Sized for number 5 cable, these staples are suitable for routing and fastening thermostat wire along framing, joists, and wall cavities in residential and light commercial HVAC applications. Each pack contains 40 staples, providing enough quantity for a standard installation run. HVAC technicians and installers reach for these staples when securing control wiring between thermostats, air handlers, furnaces, and outdoor units.
These staples are used in residential and light commercial HVAC installations where low-voltage thermostat wiring must be neatly routed and secured. Typical applications include new system installations, system replacements, and wiring retrofits where existing staples have failed or are missing. They are appropriate for use on standard thermostat wire routed along wood framing and similar structural members.
Designed as an OEM-style fastening solution for number 5 cable thermostat wire used in residential and light commercial HVAC control wiring installations.
Installation is typically performed by licensed HVAC technicians or low-voltage wiring installers. Power down the HVAC system and set the thermostat to the off position before routing or stapling any control wiring. Drive staples snugly against the wire without over-driving, as excessive force can crush the wire or breach the insulation. Follow applicable local building codes and low-voltage wiring guidelines when routing thermostat wire through finished or unfinished spaces.
