The Braeburn BRAE-6425 is a universal 7-day programmable touchscreen thermostat with integrated humidification control, designed for multi-stage residential and light commercial HVAC applications. It supports up to 4 stages of heating and 2 stages of cooling on heat pump systems, or up to 3 stages of heating and 2 stages of cooling on conventional systems. Operating on 24 volts AC or two AA alkaline batteries (3.0 volts DC), the unit retains all user, installer, and program settings through a power failure. Licensed HVAC technicians install this thermostat as a universal replacement or upgrade across a broad range of low-voltage system types.
The BRAE-6425 suits residential and light commercial installations where multi-stage heat pump or conventional gas, oil, or electric systems require precise scheduling and humidity management. Its 7-day programmable scheduling and 5-2 day programming option give service contractors and building owners flexible setpoint control. Auto changeover mode eliminates the need to manually switch between heating and cooling seasons. The large touchscreen display simplifies programming during commissioning and routine service calls.
Compatible with low-voltage single-stage and multi-stage gas, oil, and electric conventional heating and cooling systems, and heat pump systems with up to four stages of heating and two stages of cooling. Terminals include A/D, H, G, Rc, Rh, W2/AUX2, W3/O/B, Y1, Y2, W1/E/AUX1, C, L, S1, and S2.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local codes and the manufacturer wiring diagram. Always disconnect power to the air handler or furnace control board before removing the existing thermostat or making new wire terminations. Verify system voltage is 24V AC before hardwiring; battery backup is available for non-powered wallplate installations. Do not install in locations subject to drafts, direct sunlight, or radiant heat sources, as these conditions will affect temperature sensing accuracy.
